Platform Name: Echo 550 Acoustic Droplet Ejection System
Description: The Beckman (Labcyte) Echo 550 acoustic droplet ejection system using sound energy to move liquid droplets of 2.5 nL without physical contact. It is suitable for transfer of volumes up to ~10 µL. Liquid types supported: aqueous, 50% glycerol, 100% DMSO, and some surfactants and organics. Capable of viable cell transfer. Comes with Echo Plate Reformat software for hit picking protocol which can be defined using a spreadsheet. Requires use of specific 384-well plates for source material.

Integrated with the inSPIRE workstation, which also includes the Mantis, ViiA 7 RT-PCR, ODTCs, Fragment Analyzer Infinity, ALPS 3000, HiG 3, and XPeel for high-throughput experimentation.
